Dear Church family and friends,
We received this word from the NC Conference and our Bishop Hope Morgan Ward:
I urge you to continue the compassionate practice of not gathering for worship, funerals, weddings, studies, and other groups for the next two months.
This is difficult but it is the most responsible action for now. We need to care for our neighbors and work to slow the spread of the virus. Our hope is to gather again in May.  I promise when we join together again in our church building it will be a joyous Easter celebration!
We will send out a weekly worship video so that we can worship together while we are apart.
In times of turbulence we hold on to Jesus, our anchor, our Savior the sure and solid rock.
Matthew 7:34
‘Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.
Let us make holy use of this unwelcome time, going deep in our reflection, going wide in our concern, going carefully in our ministry.
God is with us. You are in my prayers.
Pastor Casey

We invite you to come and experience God and community with our lively Saturday night Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse concerts, our Sunday morning worship and our Wednesday evening Community Worship!

St. Paul UMC is now in a cooperative parish with Duke’s Chapel UMC and our Pastor Casey Mursten serves both congregations.  The parish has tentatively planned to have a combined worship service for both congregations every 5th Sunday and/or at each church’s Homecoming.

Also for every 5th Sunday joint service at St. Paul, there will be an All-Church Breakfast hosted by the United Methodist Men at 9am! There will also be a joint service for each Homecoming events at each church .  There will be No Sunday School on these dates!

St. Paul is a place of healing and growth through Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous meetings and our bible studies. We continue to help transform Durham in serving our neighbors by partnering with the Durham Rescue Mission, Urban Ministries, the Colonial Village Neighborhood Association, the Northgate Park Neighborhood Association and more.

See our community engagement and activities on our Blog.

Let our Sermons on Video inspire you! (Sermon Page has been updated with YouTube link for St. Paul/Dukes’s Chapel UMC Video Services!)

Music is a universal language that brings us closer to each other and to God.  Learn about our Choir and our very talented Music Director, Robert Buxton.  The St. Paul United Methodist Church Choir is accepting new singers!  Come and sing a wide variety of music with us: everything from old time southern gospel music, hymns, and sacred harp songs to contemporary praise songs.  Whether you are an experienced singer, or have never sung before, come and make a joyful noise unto the Lord with us!  We rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 PM, and Sundays from 10:30-11:00 AM.  Sunday services are from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

You would be hard pressed to find a more hospitable group of people.   We invite you to come as we Worship GodLove Neighbor and Raise Disciples of Jesus Christ!
