United Methodists are committed to bring an end to death and suffering from malaria through Imagine No Malaria. The NC Conference of The UMC has made a commitment to raise $1 million in the Conference year 2014-2015 to join add to the $64 million already raised toward the goal of $75 million to put an end to this killer. This disease spread by parasites transmitted through mosquito bites was eliminated in the United States in the 1950s, but it continues to kill a person every 60 seconds in Sub-Saharan Africa.
100% of the funds we are collecting go directly to prevention and treatment of malaria. Prevention through the distribution of insecticide-treated bed nets and educational communication. Treatment through providing medication and health service access. We will be taking a special offering on Sunday December 21st and also on Christmas Eve. Please join in participating in a glimpse of God’s good future where there malaria no longer robs the lives of so many.To learn more about the details about the disease, the Imagine No Malaria efforts, the handling of the money or any of your questions please head here to the Imagine No Malaria site.
