SPUMC Youth Group Pool Party: Come for some summer fun! Date: Saturday, August 18. Time: Meet at SPUMC, 12:00 noon. Then we’ll have lunch and swim at the Edison Johnson Aquatic Center, 600 W. Murray Street, Durham. Other information: Bring your own towel. Wear a swimsuit or athletic shorts w/ a T-shirt top (white or light gray), no jeans or denim in the pool. We’ll return to SPUMC at 3pm. $2.00 per person. See Pastor Steve for a permission slip.

We still need servants to set up room, serve the food and clean the dishes for Oct. 7 and Oct. 14. We still need child care help with Sept. 23rd and Oct. 14th.
Day of Renewal: Revival set for Sept 9! Morning Worship: 10:30 to 12:00. Dinner: 5pm. “Men In Christ” a cappella Quartet: 6pm. Closing: Sermon.
Don’t Throw It Away: Save those soda can tabs, bottle caps, and Labels for Education found on some brands. Your “collections” can be left in one of the boxes located near the church entrance doors. Thank you. Together we can make a difference in the lives of others.
Youth Ministry: Here is an overall schedule of our next youth events. We need volunteers! Join us. August 1st Serve at Urban Ministries, August 8th Cooking Lessons, August 15th Car Fix. Contact Steve Murphy if you are interested in serving.
Financial Peace University: is starting up on Thursdays at 7pm on Sept. 20. The course is an intense nine weeks on Godly money management.
September 16: Bishop Ward will be in our district all day. She will be meeting with clergy and laity at 4:00 p.m. at Orange UMC, Chapel Hill. This is a great opportunity to meet and hear from our Bishop.
September 30: There will be an installation service for Bishop Ward at 4:00 p.m. in Edenton St. UMC, Raleigh. This will be a significant event that you will not want to miss!
October 14: You are invited to attend a Service of Installation for our District Superintendent, Rev. Donna Banks, at 4:00 p.m. Please put this date on your calendar. The place will be announced later.
