Eyeglasses for Haiti: If you have prescription and/or reading glasses that you no longer need, give them to either Dot Wentz or Linda Lane at church. They will be donated to Luke’s Mission, taken to Haiti, and given to those who need glasses.

An Evening at Sacred Grounds
June 23 – Eden’s Gate
Eden’s Gate is a duo from China Grove, NC with rooted influences in Country, Folk, Americana, and Bluegrass. Melissa Benfield Adams (fiddle) and Jamey Basinger (guitar) perform original material and cover tunes; delivering a unique blended sound that oftentimes lands somewhere between John Prine, James Taylor, Allison Krauss and Jackson Browne. In 2011, they independently released “Dreams”, a collection of 10 original songs that run the gamut from storytelling to ballads with a reflective, sometimes gritty, outlook on life; the lines of good, bad, hope, love, and want that we all walk. The two have played locally at area venues and festivals in the greater charlotte area for the past two years; entertaining folks with a sound reminiscent of sitting out on an old front porch in the evenings.
